COLLINS Class Submarine

As an original teaming member of the Rockwell Ship Systems Australia team, SMA provided the full range of integrated logistics support services for the new RAN COLLINS Class Submarine Combat Systems.

These services included:

• design and installation of the Combat System Training equipment at the Submarine Training and Support Centre, HMAS STIRLING,

• initial and follow on crew and intermediate maintenance personnel operator and maintenance training at HMAS WATSON and HMAS STIRLING

• Combat System suite of publications including system level, subsystem level, shore support and equipment level manuals,

• logistic support engineering, including the development of maintenance plans and planned maintenance schedules,

• supply support including the development of spares recommendations, equipage item recommendations and support & test equipment recommendations.

Currently SMA is part of the Raytheon Australia team providing documentation and training for elements of the replacement combat system for the Collins. In addition SMA is providing specialised ILS support services for Raytheon Australia.
