LEEUWIN Class Hydrographic Ship

As an original teaming member of the NQEA team, SMA are providing the full range of integrated logistics support services for the new RAN LEEUWIN Class Hydrographic Ships.

These services include:

• initial and follow on crew operator and maintenance training at HMAS PENGUIN and at the Follow On Support facility in Cairns, Qld,

• Ship System suite of publications including the Ship Services, Propulsion System, Electrical System, Management Information System, Communications System and Navigation & Hydrographic Survey System,

• logistic support engineering, including the development of maintenance plans and planned maintenance schedules,

• supply support including the development of spares recommendations, equipage item recommendations and support & test equipment recommendations,

• population and maintenance of the Asset Management and Planning System installed at the Follow On Support facility in Cairns and on each ship,

• development of multi media support material.

SMA also have a five year follow on support contract to co-ordinate the maintenance of the ships, maintain the configuration of the documentation and provide maintenance training to crews.
