The 30mm Gun and EOSS Part Task Trainers are two of the simulation-based training aids developed by SMA for military applications.

These PTTs are built around a common simulation engine that can be tailored for a wide range of applications, including other ship or land vehicle mounted guns, camera control systems, combat system consoles, and vehicle and aircraft control systems.

The Simulation Engine generates an immersive worldview as seen by the operator through the vehicle's normal visual interface. Visual feedback closely replicates rates of vehicle acceleration and motion, targeting accuracy, and ordnance ballistics.

Each PTT is complete with booth, containing high fidelity simulated controls and feedback devices, and an Instructor's Console that provides menus for configuring the training scenario and results analysis. The simulated environment, vehicle and target parameters can all be set to build a unique learning session based upon the needs of the trainee. Careful planning, design and techniques ensure that the PTTs rigorously meet the training requirement at remarkably low cost.
